Paul Sides, Rav Sha’ul, Translation Of Galatians 4

This Rav Sha’ul Exposed study is about Paul Sides’ Bible translation of the book of Galatians, chapter 4.

Before we start, you need to understand what Rav Sha’ul is proclaiming with the false concept of the Yahushaic Covenant. Obviously, this is just a summary:

Paul Sides teaches that Yahusha was 100% man, because his biological father was Joseph. He teaches that Yahusha sinned and need to be baptized by John for remission of sins. He teaches that just like Elohim made covenants with men like Abraham and Moses, Yahuah made a covenant with Yahusha.  He teaches that after Messiah became perfected and lived a sinless life as a priest, and died to Himself on the cross, that He was then made divine.

You can see Biblical proof that Paul Sides claims about Messiah are false in this study: Paul Sides Is A False Teacher

So given Paul Sides teachings, we need to look at how he changes the intent and context of Scripture, to remove Messiah from His rightly place; as the Father’s first-born creation, thus He is deity, as the co-Creator, and as the spotless Lamb of Elohim.

For each verse of his version I will provide the matching verse from the ISR 98, which is a literal word for word translation, and I will provide comments when needed. The main point is to help you see how many words he has added to the Greek text..

The ISR 98 matches the names of the Father and Son that Paul Sides is using, that of Yahuah the Father, and Yahusha the Son.

The Law’s role in The Yahushaic Covenant

1 But I say this: As long as the heir is an infant as he begins as a child of Yahuah, and is trained to maturity in Yahuah’s intentions by keeping the letter of The Law, he is no different than a slave. He is either a slave to sin and death, or a slave to righteousness… he is never truly free, although he is to be ruler of all. His destiny, once he is trained in the Spiritual Intent of The Law, is to govern Creation as an inheritance.

“And I say, for as long as the heir is a child, he is no different from a slave, though he is master of all,” ISR 98

Paul Sides’ verse has 89 words, the ISR 98 literal word for word translation has 25.

2 But as a Spiritually immature child, he is under the subjection of teachers and office holders until the time appointed by the father … we reach the age of accountability in Spiritual Intent.

“but is under guardians and trustees till the time prearranged by the father.” ISR 98

3 So we also, when we were Spiritual infants, we were in bondage under the Law of sin and death and the letter of The Law.

“So we also, when we were children, were under the elementary matters of the world, being enslaved.” ISR 98

4 But when the appointed time had fully come as prophesied by His Prophets, and declared in The Heavenly Scroll… Yahuah sent forth His Son, coming into existence from a woman; coming into existence under the subjection of the Law—

“But when the completion of the time came, Elohim sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under Torah,” ISR 98

Paul Sides pointed to the Heavenly Scroll, the Mazzaroth, the constellations; which declare the story of our redemption. The irony is that the first constellation is Virgo, the virgin, who gave birth to Messiah.

And just like the verses that declare that she was pregnant without being with a man, Virgo declares that Mary was a virgin; all of which proves Rav Sha’ul wrong about Messiah supposedly being 100% human!

5 In order that those who were under the subjection of the Law’s death decrees, might be redeemed by Him, so that we might receive the adoption of sons by fulfilling The Law’s requirements through Grace, and receiving eternal life as promised in The Law for obedience.

“to redeem those who were under Torah, in order to receive the adoption as sons.” ISR 98

6 And because you are adopted sons and daughters, Yahuah sent forth the same Spirit, found in His Firstborn Son, into our hearts which cries: Abba! Father!

” And because you are sons, Elohim has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, “Abba, Father!”” ISR 98

He switched the words to remove that the Spirit is of the Son, which removes Messiah from His rightful place.

7 And because He is your Father, you are no longer a slave to the death decrees in The Law, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of Yahuah through The Yahushaic Covenant and receive eternal life as the righteous requirements of The Law are fulfilled within us.

“So you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, also an heir of Elohim through Messiah.” ISR 98

Here he proclaims that we are an heir through his false Yahushaic Covenant concept, which effectively removes that the text is saying, that we are an heir through Messiah. He is changing the meaning, which is a violation.

Do not entertain paganism, syncretism, or hellenism

8 But then, indeed, even when you were former pagans, and did not know Yahuah, you were in bondage as well to that which, by nature, are nothing but false gods (elohim).

“But then, indeed, not knowing Elohim, you served those which by nature are not mighty ones.” ISR 98

9 But now, knowing Yahuah, or rather, having been known by Yahuah, why do you return to the powerless gods (Elohim), and bow down to sacred poles? Why do you want to be in bondage to them all over again?

“But now after you have known Elohim, or rather are known by Elohim, how do you turn again to the weak and poor elementary matters, to which you wish to be enslaved again? ” ISR 98Footnote: 1See v.3, Col. 2:8 & 20.

10 From your old pagan religions, you watch for feast days in deviation from Yahuah’s New Months, Feasts, and Sacred Year.

“You observe days and months and seasons and years.” ISR 98

11 I am afraid for you, that I have labored over you to no purpose.

“I fear for you, lest by any means I have laboured for you in vain.” ISR 98

12 Brothers, I plead with you, be as I am, for I am like you; for it is not me that you have wronged.

“Brothers, I beg you to become as I am, because I am as you are. You did not wrong me at all.” ISR 98

13 You know that on account of the weakness of the flesh, sin, I preached the message of The Passover Lamb to you originally. To give you hope.

“But you know that through weakness of the flesh I brought the Good News to you before.” ISR 98

14 And yet, in your trials of the flesh, you never despised or disdained me; but rather, you welcomed me as a malak of Yahuah, even as a proxy for Yahusha the Messiah Himself.

“And my trial which was in my flesh you did not despise or reject, but you received me as a messenger of Elohim, as Messiah יהושע.” ISR 98

15 Therefore, what happened to your joy? For I testify to you, that if it were possible, you would have gouged out your eyes and you would have given them to me.

“What then was your blessedness? For I bear you witness, that if possible, you would have plucked out your own eyes and given them to me.” ISR 98

16 So, have I become your enemy now just because I tell you the truth?

“So then, have I become your enemy, speaking truth to you?” ISR 98

Do you hate me for speaking truth and proving that Rav Sha’ul is manipulating the Scriptures?

17 These pagans around you and those false Jewish brothers are zealous to win you over, but for no righteous purpose! What they want is to isolate you from the Nazarenes, so that you will be zealous for them!

“They are ardent towards you, for no good, but they wish to shut you out, that you might be ardent towards them.” ISR 98

There is no mention of Nazarenes in the Scriptural text.

18 Be righteous in obedience and be zealous for a righteous thing always; not just when I am with you.

“And it is good always to be ardent in what is good, and not only when I am present with you.” ISR 98

19 My children for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until the character of Messiah is formed in you (Until there be in you all the mind that is in Him),

“My little children, for whom I am again in birth pains until Messiah is formed in you,” ISR 98

Paul Sides added the word ‘character’ to point to the character of Messiah, instead of just to Messiah Himself; once again stealing reverence away from the Son.

20 how I long to be present with you at this time and help you through this, and to change my tone of voice knowing you are OK; because I am in doubt of you now after hearing these reports.

“even now I wish to be present with you now and to change my voice, for I have doubts about you.” ISR 98

Those outside The Yahushaic Covenant remain in bondage to Sin and Death

21 Tell me, you whose desire is to be under the Law alone, do you not understand what the Law is saying to you?

“Say to me, you who wish to be under Torah, do you not hear the Torah?” ISR 98

He added the word ‘alone’ to imply that following Torah is part the salvation formula.

22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by a slave woman, and one by a free woman.

“For it has been written that Aḇraham had two sons, one by a female servant, the other by a free woman.” ISR 98

23 But whereas the child of the slave woman was born after the flesh (in the act of breaking Yahuah’s command that the promise was through Sarah), the son of the free woman was through the promise as Yahuah was faithful to fulfill His Word through Sarah.

“But he who was of the female servant was born according to the flesh, and he of the free woman through promise.” ISR 98

24 Now all this is parable; an unrelated story of one thing, which describes another thing, for these two women represent two covenants. The Law of Sin/Death is The Abrahamic Covenant, and The Law of the Spirit of Life is The Yahushaic Covenant. The first which is the Law of sin and you die by Divine Decree comes from Mount Sinai; The Abrahamic Covenant, and whose children are slaves to the fear of death, is symbolized by Hagar—

“This is allegorical, for these are the two covenants: one indeed from Mount Sinai which brings forth slavery, which is Haḡar,” ISR 98

The text is clearly speaking about two covenants; that of Sinai, of the law; and that of Abraham, which Messiah ratified with His perfect blood. It does not mention the supposed Yahushaic Covenant.

25 For this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia–which corresponds to Yerusalem at the present; now in bondage to the death decrees, as they killed the Messiah and rejected the Chief Cornerstone, with her children: those who keep the Law out of the fear of death having rejected the underserved pardon.

“for this Haḡar is Mount Sinai in Araḇia, and corresponds to Yerushalayim which now is, and is in slavery with her children.” ISR 98

26 But Yerusalem above; Yahuah Shammah, however, is set free from death by Yahusha, and is mother of us all who accept the undeserved pardon and enter into The Yahushaic Covenant. We now have a Spirit of Comfort and lovingly obey the Law fulfilling its demands.

“But the Yerushalayim above is free, which is the mother of us all.” ISR 98

We become citizens of Heavenly Jerusalem through Messiah.

27 For it is written in Isaiah 54:1: “Rejoice, O barren, you who have not borne! Break forth into singing and cry aloud, you who have not labored with child! For more are the children of the desolate than the children of she who has a husband, says Yahuah”.

“For it has been written, “Rejoice, O barren, you who do not bear! Break forth and shout, you who do not have birth pains! For the deserted one has many more children than she who has a husband.”” ISR 98

28 Now we, brothers, like Isaac was, are the children of promise that Yahuah will forgive the Death Decrees in The Law, as Yahusha has saved us from bondage to the fear of death by fulfilling the promise of The Passover Lamb and being resurrected.

“And we, brothers, as Yitsḥaq was, are children of promise.” ISR 98

44 words vs. 10

29 Yet just as at that time, he who was born according to the flesh and not reborn Spiritually, persecuted the one according to the Spirit of Loving Obedience to The Law, so is it also now, as the Yahdai (Law with no pardon) and Christians (Lawless) have always persecuted the Nazarenes (Law with underserved pardon).

“But, as he who was born according to the flesh then persecuted him born according to the Spirit, so also now.” ISR 98

The Scriptural text says nothing about the persecution of the Nazarene’s.

30 However, what does the Scripture say in Gen 21:10? Cast out the bondwoman and her son who break the Law outside of The Yahushaic Covenant, for the son of the bondwoman, those who are condemned by the Death Decrees, will never be heir with the son of the free woman who has been set from the death decrees in The Yahushaic Covenant.

“But what does the Scripture say? “Cast out the female servant and her son, for the son of the female servant shall by no means be heir with the son of the free woman.”” ISR 98

The Scriptural text does not mention any covenant, so he should not insert his supposed Yahushaic Covenant.

31 So then, brothers, we are not children of the bondwoman held captive to death by our flesh, but of the free woman, and have been set free from the bondage of sin and death and reborn Spiritually. Born once, die twice. Born twice, die once.

“Therefore, brothers, we are not children of the female servant but of the free woman.” ISR 98

The Apostle Paul did not write about ‘Born once, die twice. Born twice, die once‘.  Paul Sides is adding to the text.
